Brief
To write a dissertation informing the design theory behind my final year design project. This needed to be graphically considered and printed, as well as written to an academic standard.
Solution
A plywood hardback wrapped in cheesecloth: explores systems of care through a case study of cheesemaking. By looking at the designed elements of care in the cheesemaking process, it demonstrates how design can increase understanding and appreciation for care in society. It proposes that a community-based cheese care practice (which I later designed and built) could be a valuable opportunity to promote community engagement and wellbeing, highlighting the importance of collective care.
